Make Time to Make Stuff

Saturday was long, long, long and did not feel very fun, fun, fun. Wee-One was a crazy, teething, sniffling, nay-saying toddler.  (She still is today.)   I would say that overall, I was a grumpy train-wreck like my daughter.  However, I did actually manage to practice my metal cutting.  I cut this cool guitar pick [...]

Welcome to My Bedroom

Don’t be dirty.
Right now I do  crafty work all over my home. Computer work is done in my bedroom where I have my computer. Then everything else is done on our dining room table in our dining/living/music/kitchen/foyer room. I have an odd little closet that holds all my art supplies that I haven’t [...]

Playing with Fire-Breathers Part Deux

I finished up my potential cast members of D. and Kristian’s animated short. I believe Kristian is back in town – I guess it is time for a casting call.
I scanned them into my computer – these colors are not quite right – they are more vibrant than the scan captured.  I am quite [...]

Jewelry Class Part 2

If you read my last post, you will know that I am madly in love with my jewelry class. I left walking on air, my head swirling with ideas, and wondering where in my apartment I could set up shop for the rest of the week. The class is a six-hour class that introduces [...]

Have I Found My Calling? (Jewelry Class Part 1)

For most of my adult life I have stared in wonderment at those friends of mine with a distinct calling. My friend C knew from a young age she wanted to delivery babies and she became a midwife. My father as a tyke knew he wanted to be an engineer. He [...]

Back to School!

I have my supply list in hand, a blank sketch book, a pencil and my metrocard. I am ready to go to school today. It is my first day of Intro to Jewelry Design, a three day course at Make Workshop! I hope the other kids like me.

Playing with Fire Breathing Dragons

I spent this morning working on one of my two current projects. Like the picture book for wee-one, I have the opportunity to help tell another story by making pictures – these are going to be moving pictures!
Must husband and his friend Kristian, are working on an animated short film featuring a papa and [...]

A Picturebook for Wee-One

I am back from my great tour of the Northern Prairies. I flew to Grand Forks, ND, drove to Clearbrook, MN, then onto Winnipeg, Manitoba, and then back to Grand Forks.

The University of Grand Forks (UND) has features a tremendous amount of public art on it’s campus and Winnepeg covers it’s city in sculpture [...]

Crazy Public Art at Lever House

Whenever I meet my father for lunch, I walk past Lever House. Lever House, a recently renovated office building on Park Avenue houses a public exhibition space in it’s lobby and courtyard. Whoever acts as their curator does not shy away from works that can really smack you upside the head.
While I was pregnant [...]
