Happy New Year!

Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown tonight and I am hosting a seder to celebrate the beginning of the Jewish New Year 5769.  The seder will be small with a few members of my family which means I am busy, busy, busy preparing for an elegant, yet casual dinner party.
I will be serving:

Brisket (mom’s recipe)
Bulgur and [...]

Mini-Studio COMPLETE(ish)

There it is in all of it’s tiny glory – my work table. I know, it’s a small table in the corner but it is MY small table in MY corner.
My bedroom and now studio is my favorite place in my house.  I may be stuck in a corner but the room itself is [...]

Every Party Needs Some Pity, That’s Why You Invited Me.

Oh my. What a day. What a week. What a month.
I finished the patchwork on my patchwork notebook.  I went big on my patches because I am going to do more, more, more to it.
After I had a pity party that involved eating so much “diet” ice cream that I might as well [...]

Time

I am sitting in a quiet and dark living room and I know that I am surrounded by toys strewn all over the floor and I am wondering where the hell the time went.  I do not mean anything grand.  I simply mean, time flew today as it does most days.
I had a wonderful day.  [...]

More Metalwork…

Tomorrow.
Due to a toddler with a stomach-bug and my father who will visit this evening for dinner, I won’t get the opportunity to play with metal until tomorrow.  One of the ladies from my Intro to Jewelry design class is coming over tomorrow for a day of sawing, sanding, and drilling with my new Dremel.  [...]

Western, MA on Saturday – stART on the Street on Sunday

Phew!  I just got back from a whirl-wind Massachusetts weekend.  A weekend which included a trip to the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art and a visit to stART on the Street – an awesome annual craft fair in Worcester, MA.
D. wanted to see Flight into Fantasy: The Kendra and Allan Daniel Collection of [...]

Hair

I am mad at myself.
Today we are leaving for a wonderful weekend that will include visiting with wonderful friends, going to The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art, a pirate party, and a craft fair. Yay!  This morning I had a bit of time I could have used for rest or art.  Instead I [...]

Flying “M” In Progress

I spent some time today working on one of many flight inspired designs.  (I cannot actually finish anything just yet – I am waiting on my Dremel Multipro to make all important holes.) This is the simplest design of the bunch.  When I was a kid, like many kids, I drew birds by creating a [...]

Oh, Elusive Table – I Have Found You.

Wednesday has become “food day” for me.  It is the day I grocery shop and try a new recipe if I feel so inclined (this week – Nacho Pizza).  What that also means is that it is rarely craft day.
I did, however, make a trip to one of my favorite stores, Olde Good Things, in [...]

Tools.

As I moved all of my art supplies from one side of my home to the other, I decided I simply do not need any more art supplies.  I was wrong. I need this.

I also need these.

Who knew?
The prices are reasonable, so I think I will go ahead and order them.  I think a good [...]
